Drop Down Day 3 – Personal Development, Careers & LORIC
Our third Drop Down Day of the year will be held on the 31st of January. As always, we have worked hard to secure a range of speakers, workshops, and activities for our students to teach them about staying safe, careers and our LORIC threads (Leadership, Organisation, Resilience, Initiative and Communication).
Year 7 will be enjoying a full day of LORIC Enterprise – a series of tasks and challenges to develop those essential skills.
Year 8 will take part in workshops with DECCA around alcohol and staying safe, sessions from Stand Against Violence, the Navy, and form tutors on sharing nude images and personal development.
For year 9 students we have booked Loudmouth to deliver their Trust Me programme – focusing on sexual health and consent, Stand Against Violence and DECCA delivering a session on cannabis. Not to mention Personal Development sessions led by Form Tutors.
In Year 10 we begin to focus on careers and the world of work. They have an Employer Enterprise session, Stand Against Violence assembly and Personal Development Sessions.
For Year 11 our focus is on equipping them with the tools they need to revise and achieve their potential as well as be safe and successful adults. They will also receive input from Stand Against Violence, a session on revision techniques and their practical application, Personal Development and a session in a computer room with time to complete personal statements, CVs, college applications or use our careers software to investigate their career options and the pathways they can take.
We are looking forward to it!
