Oldbury Academy are proud to announce that we have teamed up with British Weightlifting to bring one of the most highly anticipated and exhilarating sporting events in the British Weightlifting Calendar.
Oldbury Academy are proud to be hosting the England Age Group Olympic Weightlifting Championships. The event and venue has been selected and will be used as a test event to gear up preparations for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, and we are honoured that Oldbury Academy has been selected as a venue to facilitate this.
Olympic Weightlifting is a sport of speed, strength and true mental endurance and is one of the oldest and most traditional sports to grace both the Olympic and Commonwealth platform.
Over 100 athletes from England will be competing here in Oldbury on April 30th & May1st 2022 with the hopeful dream of competing for their country at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
