Salary: Grade 4 – SCP 5 to SCP 6 (£23,500 to £23,893) Pro Rata.
Actual Salary: £9,615 to £9,776 per annum
About Us
Oldbury Academy is a large secondary school, serving ca 1400 11-16 year olds and is part of the Stour Vale Academy Trust. Ofsted inspected our school in December 2021 and judged us to be ‘GOOD’ in all categories. Ofsted concluded that “pupils at this school receive a good education” and it is well led and school leaders are committed to further improvements.

The Role
We are looking for a creative and skilled technician to provide support and advice in our Applied Learning Faculty and who will make a substantial contribution to the further development of this ‘GOOD’ school. Your duties would involve using workshop tools and machinery, working with resistant materials such as wood and acrylic, basic electronics, ordering and monitoring stock, and supporting teachers and students during lessons. Good IT skills are essential for this post and the ability to offer knowledge and skills would be an advantage. Under the instruction/guidance of the Head of Faculty, you would co-ordinate the use and maintenance of practical resources and facilities. This may involve preparation of resources, constructing and modifying apparatus, together with assisting in demonstrations.
