Students and staff at Oldbury Academy are celebrating after receiving an excellent set of A Level and BTEC results this year: 32% of A Level grades achieved were at grades A*-B, whilst 60% of BTEC grades were at Distinction level or higher. Special mention should go to Inderpal Bahia who achieved three A* grades in History, Law and Psychology and will be going on to study Psychology at University of Birmingham, and Faisal Mahmood who achieved A* in Law. All students have secured a destination at post 18, be this university, further training, or employment.
Headteacher Phil Shackleton said ‘Once again our Sixth Form students have done us all proud, with a really impressive set of results. This is a true reward for their hard work and commitment to their studies. I have no doubt they will go on to continued success and I would like to wish all of our students the very best in their next steps.’ Head of Sixth Form, Danielle Payne, echoed this by saying ‘I know how dedicated our staff and students are and I am so proud of what the students have achieved and contributed to the school. I look forward to hearing of their continued success in the future!’
