We are delighted to be able to offer our Year 10 students one week of Work Experience. This will take place W/C Monday 9th March 2020 with a Work Experience pre-visit for all Year 10 students on Thursday 5th March 2020. At Oldbury Academy we believe all students should have experience in all aspects of the ‘real life’, this includes the ‘world of work’.
We encourage our students to apply for their work experience positions themselves, communicating with the work placements and arranging all of the relevant details. This will aid them in later life when applying for jobs, a skill which will stay with them for life. We also encourage our students to apply for places that will suit their dream careers.  It is vital that all students fully embrace the Work Experience process and work with the staff in school to get the best out of the week. We work closely with SIPS (Sandwell Inspired Partnership Services) who hold the central database of work experience placements. They are also responsible for checking the companies and their insurances.
Paperwork has been given to students and we do require the information back no later than Monday 10th January 2020.

Our Year 10 students have the opportunity to work with Aim Higher to help find their placements. Please see below for more information. If you require any support, information or advice, please feel free to give me a call.
