At Oldbury Academy, we believe in working closely with our local primary schools to develop strong links and a robust process to aid the transition from primary to secondary school.

Our local feeder schools are:
– Moat Farm Junior School
– Causeway Green Primary School
– Annie Lennards Primary School
– Uplands Manor Primary School
– Langley Primary School
– Bleakhouse Primary School
– Blackheath Primary School
– Rood End Primary School

Over the next few weeks, Mr Shackleton and I will be visiting these schools listed above, to meet with their senior leaders to see how we can develop the transition process further. We are extremely excited to work with these schools to help nurture their students and also allowing their students to feel safe, happy and well informed, about coming to secondary school. Choosing a secondary school for your child is a tough decision, especially with a lot of different secondary schools in the area, which is the reason we want to become a familiar part of the primary school family.

Representatives from Oldbury Academy will be attending all Key Stage 2 parents evenings in the local area to answer any questions parents may have. We will also be holding our Primary Taster Sessions, with both students and parents. We also offer different engaging activities which we can roll out to Year 4, 5 and 6 students which will help us showcase our amazing students, brilliant facilities and wonderful staff. Our annual open period is in September, but in our recent primary engagement plan, we aim to hold several open mornings throughout the year for you to experience our wonderful school.

If you require any more information, please feel free to get in touch.
