Oldbury Academy is a standalone academy which converted in 2011. The academy is ran by a Governing Body / Trustees. These are a group of volunteers who want to make a positive contribution to the school. We are responsible for the strategic direction, vision and ethos of the school. Our role is to support and challenge the Headteacher and school leadership, and hold them to account. We meet on a regular basis to discuss the progress of the school in every area.
We work together to:
- Make decisions on performance targets, school policies and improvement plans
- Decide how the budget should be spent
- Promote high standards of teaching and learning
- Monitor pupils’ progress and achievements
